Maximus is a heavy easy chair sculpted out of solid ash. Available in different dyed colors.

 

Maximus is an attempt to give body and a rounded, soft shape to a hard material, an approach that is quite far from the most rational way of processing wood to make a chair. 

I wanted to use the material in a different and a bit unexpected way but still create a pleasant seating experience.

 

All parts for the chair are cnc cut out of solid ash and then assembled.

 

Maximus was part of my degree project from Konstafck University.
